1942 Born in Hampton Hill, Middlesex
1958-59 Studied at Twickenham School of Art
1959-63 Studied at Kingston School of Art
1963 Granted a Leverhume Travelling Scholarship to Rome
1965 Worked as an assistant to Bryan Kneale; taught at London College of Printmaking
1966 Exhibited in the 'New Generation' show at the Whitechapel Gallery, London
1966, 1967, 1971-72 Travelled to the USA
1968 First solo exhibition at the Redfern Gallery, London
1975 Taught at the Wimbledon School of Art
1976 Won a prize at the Tolly Cobbold/Eastern Arts 3rd National Exhibition
1980-1999 Taught at Chelsea College of Art and Design
1986 Took part in 'Die Ecke' at Galerie Hoffmann, Friedberg
2007 Elected Royal Academician
