An exhibition of selected prints by Patrick Procktor in the lower galleries to mark the long-awaited publication, Patrick Procktor: The Complete Prints.
Patrick Procktor: The Complete Prints is a fully illustrated catalogue raisonné which covers four decades of the artist’s prolific work in etching, aquatint, lithography and screenprint. It includes substantial essays by the artist and master intaglio printmaker John Crossley and writer Michael Healey, which chart and analyse the aesthetic and technical development of Procktor’s printmaking, within the context of his wider artistic production.
The book features input from other printmakers who collaborated with Procktor, including Kip Gresham (Curwen Chilford Prints and Gresham Studio); Charles Newington (Tisiphone Etching); Ian Wilkinson (Gresham Studio); and John White (Curwen Studio).
A total of 149 prints are documented and illustrated in colour, many for the first time, alongside a selection of related watercolours and working proofs. A comprehensive list of public collections and exhibitions has also been compiled for this publication.
