1927 Born in Eberswalde, Mark Brandenburg
1947-51 Took Free Graphics at the Landeskunstschule, Hamburg
1951-60 Teacher of lithography and etching at Landeskunstschule
1955 Given a scholarship by the Cultural Committee of Germany
1960 Confiscation of a series of his erotic prints; moved to Paris to work in the Desjobert workshop
1963 Met his future wife, Karin Szekessy
1963-68 Worked as a professor at the Hochschule für bildende Künste
1964 Awarded the Japan Cultural Forum Award
1967 Awarded the Award Premio Marzotti
1970 Awarded the Gold Medal in Florence
1978 Awarded Gold Medals at the Grafik-Biennale in Taiwan and in Bulgaria
1986 Won the Kunstpreis des Landes Schleswig-Holstein
1994-95 Major retrospectives at several Japanese museums
2010 Died in Provence
