On Paper: Surface and Structure
5 June - 6 July 2019

These wall reliefs start out as rough sketches in a notebook, before the artist develops the ideas and makes larger, more measured drawings, which have been described as "fascinating models of colour abstraction". These drawings, made from 1965 to the present day, are the focus of On Paper: Surface and Structure, which coincides with the publication of a new monograph on the artist's works on paper, written by Stephen Bann and published by the Royal Academy of Arts.
