Helene Fesenmaier

An extract from Bryan Robertson's catalogue introduction from an exhibition at New Ulm Minnesota in 1999:

"Helene Fesenmaier is one of the most gifted and authoritative artists working in Europe. For nearly four decades, she has made painting and built up sculptures of great force, presence and originality. Quite often she has combined painting and sculpture together in an unorthodox but highly personal way; sometimes sculpture appears two-dimensionally, in a shadowy form in certain paintings."
