David Tindle RA'The images I paint are of things that I know or can remember best. I try to place them in an order that expresses the feelings I have about them. It is not a question of painting them as realistically as I can, but to get the right tonality, so that memory and presence are very close.' (1985)
'I find myself covered from head to toe with today's dust but find no modernism in my conception. These pictures with only few exceptions, are subjected by obsessions, ghosts and the artist and model. The principal comments are on what I find beautiful and, to a large extent, transitional' (1996)
