Bryan Organ was born in Leicestershire in 1935. He now lives in London and Leicestershire.

Between 1952 -1959 he studied at Loughborough College of Art and at the Royal Academy Schools. He was a Lecturer in Drawing and Painting at Loughborough College of Art from 1959-65. He has had one-man shows in London, New York, Italy and Germany. Represented by the Redfern Gallery since 1967, Organ's works are in public and private collections worldwide.

His paintings include portraits, the following of which are in the Natioanl Portrait Gallery: Dr Roy Strong, 1971; Lester Piggott, 1973; Harold Macmillan, 1980; HRH The Prince of Wales, 1981; Lady Diana Spencer, 1981; Lord Denning, 1982; Jim Callaghan, 1983; HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, 1983.

Other portraits include Sir Michael Tippett, 1966, Mary Wuant, 1969; HRH The Princess Margaret, 1970; Elton John, 1973; Prisedent Mitterand, 1985; Richard Attenborough (later Lord Attenborough), 1985, 2003; Lord Jenkins 2002; Martin Johnson, 2004; Allan Sugar, 2010.

Bryan Organ has been made an Hon MA Loughborough, 1974 (and Hon DLitt, 1992) and Hon DLitt: Leicester, 1985
